This website is specifically addressing the issue of Avian Influenza in relation to wildlife and to hunting in Europe. It doesn't intend to deal with all scientific aspects of the epidemiology but mainly to provide accurate information about the (possible) implications for the conservation and sustainable use of wild birds and mammals as well as for hunting.

Its information is compiled, verified and approved by a group of experts, based on the best available data and the most reliable sources, and is regularly updated. However , the authors cannot be held accountable in any way for possible errors or misrepresentations.

This website is the result of a joint effort by the European hunters' community (represented by FACE – Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU ), with the support of hunting related trade and professional bodies (in particular AFEMS, AECAC and IEACS).
